Notes for Henry Abel Secor
Died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Emanuel Swinehart, near Hagerman, Idaho on Oct. 5. He was born in this township 59 years ago. He attended the district schools of this vicinity, later becoming a teacher and pursued the study of law. He had been in poor health for a year prior to his demise, small pox which failed to break out finally causing death.922

Died of appendicitis, called inflammation of the bowels. She was a school teacher in District No. 7 in Bliss, ID. They closed the school for that winter after she died. The History of Monona Co., Iowa, 1890, mentions S. M. Condit as the first teacher in the Miers neighborhood in 1869, before the district was organized.368
