Notes for Ira Condict
Instructed in God's law from early childhood, under the training and example of pious parents, he early gave his heart to his Saviour and began his preparation for the ministry. He was ordained to preach at Newton, N. J., in 1787. Subsequently he had charge of the churches of Newton, Hardwick and Shappenack. In 1794 he was installed over the Reformed (Dutch) church at New Brunswick, N. J., and was for several years vice-president and professor at Rutgers College. He was eminent for his learning, prudent and successful in his ministry. His last words were, "Prepare for the life to come; may you be of the righteous who shall meet with the saints of God."8
