Notes for Mahala Mary Sollers
There is speculation that Mahala and Evan were never married. There are three other marriages for Mahala and at the time of William Edward Parrott’s birth she had been married to 1) James Gladden (1826), 2nd) James Snowden (1838), then Evan, and then 3rd) Baxter Baker (1846)
Notes for Evan S. (Spouse 1)
I believe that Mahala and Evans Parrott were possibly never married and that the Edward Gladden in 1850 is in actuality Edward Parrott and Mahala and Evans Parrott were probably never married because in the land records of Virginia where Evan's brothers and sisters were dealing with his land after his death there is no mention of a wife or child and the brothers and sisters are listed as HEIRS AT LAW. If they had known he had a son, it would not have read that way. Mahala was probably unaware of Evan's family or she would have claimed an inheritance for Edward.13142
