mtDNA for a daughter of Minnie Morrow through a daughter of Clara through a daughter of Norma through another daughter does not match the mtDNA of David, son of Lucy, daughter of Lottie (Hand), daughter of Delia (Morrow), daughter of Sarah “Sally” (Pope) Morrow, mother of the other Morrow children.

Hannah M. Garrison in her application for a social security number (6/10/1972) states her mother was Fannie Burlison and father was Gilbert Morrow.
Notes for James David “Dock” (Spouse 1)
Proof Document for Sarah F. Pope as the wife of James David Morrow is here.
The story was that this guy was possibly drunk and abusing his mother and they got into it. After the altercation and the guy died, grandpa left the area (possibly going to Arkansas) he probably feared the other family's clan. He came back in about a year and they sent him up for a year more for running off Grover speculated. While he was gone his wife Sara left and married a guy named Ritter. ( I believe this is right) As I understood it she left the children with Grover's folks. Grandpa came back and took the children to Arkansas.  I've been told Calvin and Delia and evidently they had a couple of children, took three years sharecropping thru Tennessee before they got to Arkansas. I suppose this is when Grandpa Morrow came with the other children.356
Listed as Thomas with brother William in 1920? (age 84)
Listed as Dock, boarding with Elex (Alex?) and Maggie Morrow in 1910? (age 68? same census page as WW Morrow)
Jim shared the story of his grandfather, our great, great grandfather, being put in jail for knifing a man.   Seems the man wanted to date his sister and JD "Doc" Morrow didn't want him to.   So the man, 6' 6" started beating on JD, 5' 5" and got him down in a corner.   JD pulled out his pocket knife and stuck him in the neck.   When they ran and got JD's dad who was a real doctor, the man wouldn't let him treat him and he died a few minutes later.   JD got scared and ran off for a year, when he came back he was arrested and sentenced to five years and served three.   Sally tried to get a job, but indians weren't being hired so after two years she gave up, put the kids on the Morrow's doorstep.   When JD got out a year later he gathered up the kids and according to Jim, left for Oklahoma.348
J. D. “Dock” Morrow was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced on 10/11/1890 to a term of 5 years with a 14 months reduction. He was pardoned on 3/2/1893. At the time of sentencing he had nine children.335
Ron Moore stated that the reason James was prosecuted for manslaughter was that when the man died he disposed of the body by throwing the man to the hogs. That he probably would not have be prosecuted otherwise as he was protecting himself.357
Mr. WILLIAM G. STANFIELD, of Franklin County, succeeded last Monday the 31st of October in getting his “grip” on DOCK MORROW, the man who murdered JOE WILSON last march in Franklin County, and delivered him over to Sheriff LODEN.  Detectives have been vigilant after MORROW for some time, but to no purpose.  He was taken in Mississippi near the Alabama line.  Two hundred dollars is the handsome reward.
The Sheriff of this county has notified the Sheriff of Franklin County that he has MORROW “on file” at present his papers and take him to Franklin.358
DOCK MORROW was taken in custody by some Franklin County men on last Sunday and carried to Belgreen.359
There is a James Morrow on the 1866 Alabama State census in Walker Co., Alabama, married, he and wife both 10-20 years old. James does not appear to be with his father in 1866 so this could be James.360
