It seems Col. Cundict also used the Cundict name (see picture for birth dates of children).
He entered his country's service in the war of the Revolution as a member of the Second Regiment, State militia; promoted to major, 1776, and for gallantry was made lieutenant-colonel, 1777, April 15; died April 24, 1777, aged 43. Thus early were his children left fatherless, and the country bereft of the services of a true patriot, soldier and citizen.8
Jemima, in her diary, indicates he died 10 Apr 1777.644
Col David Condit settled on his farm at the time of his marriage, and the old house in which he and his bride went to housekeeping still stands (1898). At least three generations were born in this home, Japhia, David W. And John Perry Condit.872
