His boyhood days were spent on the farm of his father in Washington County. In May, 1887, he graduated in the Ida Grove, Iowa, High School, and taught in the district schools for three years or more. In the spring of 1891 he entered the Capital City Business College in Des Moines, and was graduated therefrom six months later. For two years he was employed as bookkeeper in the book publishing office of his cousin, W. D. Condit. In the fall of 1893 he entered McCormick Theological Seminary, where he attended for a year. The next two years he attended the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Omaha, Neb., supplying during this time the Presbyterian Church of Neola, Iowa. He has served churches in Iowa since his graduation at Omaha in May, 1896, with the exception of three and one-half years in general work, serving a part of this time as field secretary of Buena Vista College, and later as district superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League for the Cedar Rapids district. He was stated clerk of Iowa City Presbytery for more than three years, and was commissioner to the General Assembly in May, 1914, in Chicago. He is now pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Centre View, Missouri.3

Former Topeka Dies as Result of Automobile Accident
A fractured skill, resulting from an automobile accident at National Pike, Ohio. Proved fatal to the Rev Harrison S Condit, 64, field secretary of the Presbyterian Theological Seminary at Omaha, Neb, and formerly of the Anti Saloon league at Topeka Tuesday.
The accident occurred a week ago when the Rev and Mrs Condit were returning to Omaha after a visit to Oil City PA where they had attended the celebration of his aunt’s one hundredth birthday.
He leaves his widow and a daughter, Lucille, and son Harold, of Des Moines, IA, 4 sisters, Mrs. Ben L Leonard, Topeka, Mrs. Henry Henderson Cushing IA, Mrs. Elizabeth Mills, Los Angeles, Mrs. Nettie Griffin, State College NM.
He was born in Washington Co Iowa March 11, 1867 and was graduated from the Presbyterian Theological seminary in 1896. After a time in Topeka with the anti Saloon league, he went to the College of Emporia as a field agent and for these 14 years had been associated with the Omaha seminary.
Mrs. Condit still is in the Springfield Ohio hospital where her condition is not serious. The Rev Mr. Condit’s’ body will be brought to Topeka for burial.934
