Cyrus Parkhurst Condit wrote a coming-of-age novel about a teenage boy in Florida who learns to hunt, builds a fence, and takes a fawn as a pet. His “Trip to Florida for Health and Sport,” edited by O'Sullivan and Zhang, has been published by the Florida Historical Society Press.
