Notes for Rev. Robert Woodruff Condit
He graduated at Princeton College in 1814, and united with his father's church at Hanover, N. J., in 1815. He was elected tutor at Princeton College in 1816, was licensed to preach in 1818, and ordained and installed pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Montgomery, Orange County, N. Y., Dec. 13, 1820. On April 22, 1830, he was dismissed, and on Aug. 23, 1831, was installed pastor of a Presbyterian church at Oswego, N. Y., where he remained during life. His preaching was the gospel, so presented as to be profitable to all. Gifted with a clear voice and an attractive manner, he made a deep impression on every occasion. He was peculiarly fitted for the ministry, as his life and labors have conclusively shown. At his death, Rev. Dr. Vermilye, of Hartford, Conn., officiated at his funeral.8
Notes for Harriet (Spouse 1)
She was a woman of marked character and ability, a devoted Christian mother, and one who, in all the walks of life, social and domestic, performed in the fear of God every duty belonging to the wife of a pastor and that of a mother. Her memory is truly blessed.8
